Pamela Frankau papers, 1948-1967.

Pamela Frankau papers are composed of correspondence, biographical material, a short story, and nine manuscripts. The biographical folder contains a typed introduction by Rebecca West, who wrote about Frankau's personal and professional life; the nine complete manuscripts written in the autor's hand range from 1948 to 1967. One of the manuscripts included is Frankau's autobiography, Pen to paper (1961). While Frankau wrote more than thirty books, none of her early manuscripts were perserved. This collection of nine, together with one in a public collection, are now all that exist.

Rebecca West was a British author and journalist. Born Cicily Fairfield, of Scots-Irish heritage, she adopted the name of the strong-willed heroine of Ibsen's play, Rosmershmolm.
